Basketball Recap: Elijah Bell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Christian Liberty

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Aurora Christian, Harvest Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Christian Liberty Chargers 66-63. The Lions' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Harvest Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Bell, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 22 points. The game was Bell's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Zander Langfeld was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Harvest Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Christian Liberty, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Harvest Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Genoa-Kingston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Genoa-Kingston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Harvest Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Christian Liberty, they will head out to challenge Christian Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Christian Liberty has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three games.
