South Anchorage is 2-8 against the Golden Bears since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Anchorage Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Bartlett Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alaska (South Anchorage is ranked 33rd, while the Golden Bears are ranked 27th).
Last Tuesday, South Anchorage made easy work of the Wolves and carried off a 49-27 victory. The victory was just what South Anchorage needed coming off of a 60-39 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Bartlett entered their tilt with the Thunderbirds with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bartlett came out on top in a nail-biter against the Thunderbirds on Tuesday and snuck past 36-34. 36 seems to be a good number for Bartlett as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
South Anchorage's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Bartlett, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
South Anchorage came up short against the Golden Bears in their previous meeting back in January, falling 42-31. Can South Anchorage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
