The Austin Maroons will head out on the road to face off against the Anderson Trojans at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Austin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
For the first time this season, Austin was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Lake Travis could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, Anderson's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They won by a goal and slipped past Dripping Springs 2-1.
Anderson was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Andrew Saeger and
Jesse Lang, who scored both of Anderson's goals. The pair have combined for a total of ten so far this season.
Austin's draw makes their record 10-4-1 on the season. As for Anderson, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-2.
Austin skirted past Anderson 1-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Austin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
