After a string of four wins, The West Marion Trojans''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by St. Stanislaus at home and fell 49-7. West Marion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
It was another big night for Ian Gael gonz?lez rioz, who threw for 231 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Galloway, who picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
West Marion now has a losing record at 4-5. As for St. Stanislaus, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Marion will take on Seminary at 9:55 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Stanislaus, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Crystal Springs at 7:00 p.m. Crystal Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 180th, while St. Stanislaus is ranked 43rd).
