The Auburn Mountainview Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Lindbergh 68-43. Given Auburn Mountainview's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Lindbergh is ranked 233rd), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Auburn Mountainview was led to victory by Caleb Bowden and Sebastian Arius. Bowden scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Arius scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Arius is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mande Wanlemvo, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
Auburn Mountainview's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Lindbergh, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Auburn Mountainview will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Albuquerque at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lindbergh will be home for the holidays to greet Cedarcrest at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cedarcrest is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
