Windsor Academy is 1-6 against Gatewood since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Windsor Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Gatewood Gators at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Windsor Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Monday.
Windsor Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They fell 47-34 to Twiggs Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Windsor Academy in their matchups with Twiggs Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Windsor Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Savannah Roberts, who scored 9 points along with 14 rebounds, and Kyndall Bowen who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Bowen scored a full 32.4% of Windsor Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Gatewood came up short against Westfield School last Tuesday and fell 53-42. While losing is never fun, Gatewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Westfield School is ranked 33rd).
Strong Rock Christian's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Windsor Academy's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
Windsor Academy was taken down by Gatewood 57-15 in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Can Windsor Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
