The Williston-Elko Blue Devils lost against the Denmark-Olar Vikings last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Williston-Elko fell to the Vikings 56-51. Williston-Elko has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Treveon Hinton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Denmark-Olar, scoring 20 points along with six steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Hinton posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Tykeen Ross, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Williston-Elko's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Denmark-Olar, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.
Williston-Elko will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is ranked 172nd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 179th). As for Denmark-Olar, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Fighting Hawks at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Blackville-Hilda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday.
