St. Raphael Academy is a perfect 3-0 against Mt. Hope since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Saints will face off against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. St. Raphael Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
St. Raphael Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Barrington, who was ranked 11th at the time (St. Raphael Academy was ranked fifth). The Saints were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Eagles on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Isabella Sousa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophie Roman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Ella Taylor also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Raphael Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Barrington only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Mt. Hope made easy work of Middletown on Saturday and carried off a 15-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.
Hailey Ferriera was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Moran, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
St. Raphael Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Hope, their record now sits at 3-9.
Mt. Hope's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. St. Raphael Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Mt. Hope, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will St. Raphael Academy keep running through batters, or will the Huskies buck the trend?
Everything went St. Raphael Academy's way against Mt. Hope in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, as St. Raphael Academy made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
