The Kingwood Park Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 52-34 fall against Lufkin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Kingwood Park of the 44-37 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Kingwood Park's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aniah Cross, who scored 11 points, and Asia Martin who scored eight points.
Kingwood Park has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-22 record this season. As for Lufkin, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-17.
Kingwood Park will face off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dayton is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Panthers an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Lufkin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
