The Upstate HomeSchool Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. Their rough 59-38 defeat to Hampton Park Christian might stick with them for a while. Upstate HomeSchool was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Leading Hampton Park Christian to victory were Seth Moeder and Trevor Gearhart. Moeder almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Gearhart dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Gearhart has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Gantt, who scored 12 points.
Upstate HomeSchool dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hampton Park Christian, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Upstate HomeSchool will head out on the road to face off against the at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bob Jones Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 matchups. As for Hampton Park Christian, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville Classical Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the are ranked 70th).
