The Holcomb Hornets won the last time they faced the Southland Rebels, and things went their way on Friday too. Holcomb blew past Southland, posting a 68-38 win at home.
Holcomb got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Kenner out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Reeves-Crittendon, who scored 15 points.
Holcomb's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Southland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Holcomb will be home for the holidays to greet Puxico at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Puxico knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Holcomb likes a good challenge. Southland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eagle Ridge Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st.
