Mount View hasn't had much luck against Washington Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will welcome the Raiders at 2:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mount View 3.9, Washington Academy 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Washington Academy will be up against a hot Mount View squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Mustangs came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against St. Dominic.

Cole Gerrish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaden Bradeen was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Dominic Nash also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, while Washington Academy put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Calais. The Raiders blew past the Blue Devils 10-0. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Ben Hennessey, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Calais off the board.
At the plate, Washington Academy let Trevor Shimabukuro and Sam Davidson run wild. Shimabukuro got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Davidson earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Davidson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Gardner, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Mount View pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Washington Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount View has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Washington Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mount View couldn't quite get it done against Washington Academy in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
