Castle View had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Pine Creek Eagles with a sharp 15-1 win on Saturday. The Sabercats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.
Keyan Lundvall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Castle View got a massive performance out of Samuel Harry, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Harry continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Feldhake, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Castle View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive contests.
Castle View has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Pine Creek, with the defeat, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-4.
As of now, neither Castle View nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
