Estero can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Canterbury by a score of 59-48. Given Estero's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Canterbury is ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lee Eckman was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 21 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Jacob Sander was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Fort Myers at home against Ida Baker on Thursday as the squad secured a 87-51 victory. The win was just what Fort Myers needed coming off of a 79-59 loss in their prior matchup.
Estero's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Fort Myers, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Estero might still be hurting after the 71-48 loss they got from Fort Myers in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Thankfully for Estero, Tyler Schultz (who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
