Colten Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. James Monroe has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Summers County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went James Monroe's way against Summers County in their previous meeting back in March, as James Monroe made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
