The Tampa Prep Terrapins had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against Lake Wales by a score of 50-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tampa Prep also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tampa Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Treniti Fluker, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Green, who scored 13 points.
Several Highlanders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaslyn Robinson, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Squire, who scored six points along with 16 rebounds.
Tampa Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Lake Wales, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tampa Prep will square off against North Tampa Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Tampa Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 28.3 points per game this season, so Tampa Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Wales, they will head out on the road to square off against Davenport at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davenport has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
