The Torres Toros and the Jurupa Hills Spartans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Torres Toros had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Spartans on the road and fell 41-14. Torres' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Among those leading the charge was Jordan Pernillo, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Jurupa Hills also got a significant boost from Damien Ortiz, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Torres' loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Jurupa Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Torres does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jurupa Hills will square off against Soquel at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Soquel is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
