C Little Ten recap Oct. 3, 2012
Dexter was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in C Little Ten. The Tigers vanquished Stearns 17-0 earlier in the week.
Foxcroft extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Orono, 42-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Bucksport's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matthew Stewart threw for 42 yards and Josh Gray had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Nic Bishop chipped in 105 yards. Nathan Gray helped Bucksport's passing attack out by catching two balls for 12 yards.
Bucksport's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Golden Bucks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Stewart has thrown for 403 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Gray has 21 catches for 254 yards. Bishop leads the league in rushing with 569 yards.
The top two teams in C Little Ten will face off this week when first place Bapst takes on second place Foxcroft. Last week, Bapst topped the Golden Bucks, while Foxcroft bested the Riots.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Crusaders take on Danny White's team. Bapst has allowed 19 points this season, while the Ponies have given up 74. Dan O'Connell's team allowed 7 points last week as it beat Bucksport.
Orono suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 42-0 loss to Foxcroft. Bob Sinclaire's team had been ranked 20th, but fell to 29 following the defeat.
