Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Comes Up Short

St. Cloud lost against Osceola back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Cloud Bulldogs took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osceola Kowboys.

Despite the loss, St. Cloud still got an impressive performance from Josiah Cotto, who went 6 for 9 en route to 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the most assists Cotto has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaki Baker, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Osceola's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Isaac led the charge by going 6 for 12 en route to 22 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mason, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points along with six assists and three steals.

St. Cloud's loss dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Osceola, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

St. Cloud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-44 win against Oviedo on the 22nd. As for Osceola, they will face off against Lake Highland Prep at 2:00 p.m. on January 25th. Osceola has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three games.
