Edinburgh is 0-4 against Center Grove since May of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Lancers will square off against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Edinburgh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Edinburgh is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Southwestern on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 3-2.

Kenna Streeval was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Streeval wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chole Hancock, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Center Grove came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 15-0 shutout. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.
Kara Biever looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Hayden Baird was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Kiersten Hardin was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Center Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Center Grove's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Edinburgh, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Edinburgh hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Center Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Edinburgh might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Center Grove in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
