Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is 8-1 against Bloomfield since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears will be home for the holidays to greet the Bloomfield Bees at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Laurel-Concord-Coleridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 51-45 W over Plainview.
Gibson Roberts was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's points. Another player making a difference was Kolby Hansen, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 53-23 victory over Osmond/Randolph. The result was nothing new for Bloomfield, who have now won three matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Layne Warrior, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Eisenhauer, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bloomfield, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 58.7 points per game. It's a different story for Bloomfield, though, as they've been averaging only 49.7 points per game. The only thing between Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and another offensive beatdown is Bloomfield. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge beat Bloomfield 58-49 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Laurel-Concord-Coleridge repeat their success, or does Bloomfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
