After a string of seven wins, Chaparral's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 12-6 to the Da Vinci Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lobos of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Carlos Torres made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Nicolas Flores was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Da Vinci, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaparral will head out to face off against Cathedral at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cathedral will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Chaparral surely won't give up without a fight. As for Da Vinci, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santa Teresa at 6:00 p.m. on the 11th. Santa Teresa's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Da Vinci's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
