The Pahokee Blue Devils lost against the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Pahokee had to suffer through a rough 63-36 loss at the hands of Royal Palm Beach. While losing is never fun, Pahokee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 717th, while Royal Palm Beach is ranked 267th).
Despite the loss, Pahokee saw an underclassman step up: Javian Jones scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquavis McCloud, who scored eight points.
Jayden Coney was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five steals for Royal Palm Beach. Edward Wood was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Pahokee's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Royal Palm Beach, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Pahokee will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Jupiter at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Jupiter will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Royal Palm Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Somerset Academy Key at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Somerset Academy Key is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
