It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mountain Ridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pinnacle Pioneers by a score of 4-1. The win was familiar territory for the Mountain Lions, who have now won seven matches in a row.
Gianna Torres was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over eight innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Italia Carpio was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Kyra Harrison also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
