The Christopher Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christopher is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Christopher was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-24 to Live Oak.
Christopher's loss came about despite a quality game from William Rizqallah, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown. Rizqallah was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.
Meanwhile, last Friday just wasn't the day for Archbishop Mitty's offense. They were outmatched by Valley Christian at home and fell 35-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
The losses dropped Christopher to 9-1 and Archbishop Mitty to 5-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Christopher has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 147.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Mitty struggles in that department as they've been even better at 161 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
