After flying high against the Fulton Leadership Academy Gryphons last Tuesday, the Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors came back down to earth. Southwest Atlanta Christian took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookstone on Saturday.
Southwest Atlanta Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Talyn Harris, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jabari Burleson, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Brookstone found their leader in underclassman Grayson Miley, who scored 17 points. Thomas Henderson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Southwest Atlanta Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Brookstone, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest Atlanta Christian will square off against Atlanta Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlanta Classical Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 484 points over their last six matches. Brookstone's road trip will continue as they head out to face Strong Rock Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Strong Rock Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
