Chase is 2-0 against Patton since October of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Chase Trojans will be playing at home against the Patton Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Patton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chase, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Chase humbled Polk County with a 70-26 victory. The result was nothing new for Chase, who have now won three matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Zac Frashier had a dynamite game for Chase, rushing for 306 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 18.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 86 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Zion Murray, who rushed for 105 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Patton, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were outmatched by Brevard at home and fell 48-0. While losing is never fun, Patton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Brevard is ranked 108th).
Chase's win on Friday bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Patton, their loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
