The Jena Giants and the Union Parish Farmers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Jena Giants had to settle for second. They took a 24-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Farmers. Jena's defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Jy?marion Island, who rushed for 188 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry for Union Parish.
Jena's loss dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Union Parish, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Jena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union Parish is on the road again on Friday and play against St. James at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (St. James is ranked 36th, while Union Parish is ranked 57th).
