The Dayton Dust Devils fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Elko Indians on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Dayton just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Dayton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ayisha Agee, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Agee has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennidi Smith, who scored 14 points along with three blocks.
Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Elko, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
Dayton the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lowry at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Lowry is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Elko, Elko and Spring Creek will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Spring Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
