The McCluer North Stars will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Hazelwood West Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McCluer North has three straight victories, Hazelwood West has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, McCluer North gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 57-19 victory over Parkway South. While fans of McCluer North might be used to big wins, the 38-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Meanwhile, Hazelwood West came up short against Parkway South on Thursday and fell 54-41.
McCluer North's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Hazelwood West, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.
McCluer North beat Hazelwood West 52-43 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will McCluer North repeat their success, or does Hazelwood West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
