Basketball Recap: Chattanooga Prep Piles Up the Points Against Copper Basin

A well-balanced attack led Chattanooga Prep over Copper Basin in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chattanooga Prep Sentinels blew the Copper Basin Cougars out of the water with a 72-19 final score. The Sentinels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Chattanooga Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cadence Collins, who went 6-for-8 en route to 17 points and three steals. What's more, Collins also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joel Bulis, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Chattanooga Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Basin only posted three assists.

When it comes to explaining why Copper Basin lost, don't look at Carder Lance. Despite the final result, he earned 11 points.

Chattanooga Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.8 points. As for Copper Basin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Chattanooga Prep has already played their next contest, a 74-61 win against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts on the 10th. As for Copper Basin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-31 loss against South Pittsburg on the 8th.
