Baseball Recap: Sebastopol Drops Season-High Score on Forest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sebastopol). Everything went their way against the Forest Bearcats on Saturday as they made off with a 19-7 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their two-run performance the game before.

Lowry Moore was a standout: he scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mays McDill, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Sebastopol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sebastopol's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Forest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sebastopol will host Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.71 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Forest, they will be playing at home against Northeast Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
