Softball Recap: Eastern View Beats Culpeper County for Their Third Straight Win

Eastern View had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Culpeper County Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 back in March.

Cailin Rendell was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Rendell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sara Hopper, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Jordan Werth also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Eastern View's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Culpeper County, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Eastern View will face off against Caroline at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Culpeper County, they will take on Chancellor at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
