The Silver Lake Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Elba for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-3 victory at home. That 62-3 margin sets a new team best for Silver Lake this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Faimon, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Faimon set a new season high mark in steals with four. Jack Sorensen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Silver Lake's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Elba, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Silver Lake will head out on the road to face off against Gibbon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibbon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Silver Lake is ranked 96th). As for Elba, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hampton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hampton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
