After a string of six wins, East Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2020.

Asalyn Schrotenboer paced East Lake's offense, picking up seven kills. Schrotenboer got some help from Jo Jo Wheaton and her 18 assists. Wheaton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maura Haubert, each putting up two.

Leading Wiregrass Ranch to victory were Tanner Henderson and Ezgi Demirok. Henderson had 14 digs and three aces, while Demirok had 15 assists and four digs. That's the most aces Henderson has posted since back in September.

East Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Wiregrass Ranch, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.

East Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Cypress Creek on the 4th. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Sickles on the 4th.
