Make it seven blowout wins for the Cottage Cougars this season. Everything went their way against Mill Springs Academy on Friday as Cottage made off with a 44-24 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Cottage has posted against Mill Springs Academy since November 11, 2020.
Alyssa Briggs was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points.
Several Mill Springs Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daryn Asrael, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Asrael has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Jones, who scored eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Cottage and bumps their season record up to 9-6. As for Mill Springs Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cottage won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Mill Springs Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tapestry Charter at 4:30 p.m. Tapestry Charter comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
