The Round Mountain Knights are on the road again on Friday and play against the Smith Valley Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on December 8th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Round Mountain earned a 29-18 victory over Jackpot. The victory was just what Round Mountain needed coming off of a 72-29 defeat in their prior match.
Round Mountain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Bullington out in front who scored 5 points along with 7 steals. Jordan Penson was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Smith Valley put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Bishop Union by a score of 66-56. Given Smith Valley's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in Nevada, while Bishop Union is ranked 304th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Round Mountain now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Smith Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Round Mountain beat Smith Valley 57-46 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Round Mountain repeat their success, or does Smith Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
