The Valley Lutheran Chargers lost against the Chesaning Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Valley Lutheran suffered a rough 64-43 loss at the hands of Chesaning. While losing is never fun, Valley Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Chesaning is ranked 92nd).
Loss or not, Valley Lutheran got some senior leadership from Elijah Wolter and Carter Rauschert. Wolter scored 18 points along with five rebounds, while Rauschert. scored seven points along with two blocks. Wolter is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played.
Valley Lutheran now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Chesaning, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Valley Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pinconning at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Valley Lutheran is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. As for Chesaning, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against New Lothrop at 7:00 p.m. Chesaning is coming into the match with eight straight wins at home, so New Lothrop is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
