Basketball Recap: Lake City Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

Lake City had won five straight home games and Hannah Riles did her part to make it six on Friday. The Lake City Panthers managed a 45-39 victory over the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada thanks in part to Riles, who posted 20 points in addition to six boards and five steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Trayana Burgess, who scored five points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Zaniya Blackmon and Hannah Goodman. Blackmon put up 15 points and three steals, while Goodman had 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Micah Davis was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Lake City has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Lake City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-49 win against Marion on the 4th. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-41 victory against Manning on the 4th.
