The Northwest Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Northwest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Watkins Mill on the road by a decisive 45-30 margin.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley strolled past Paint Branch with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 59-43.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seneca Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mina Hashemzadeh, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hashemzadeh is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Hall, who scored 21 points.
Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Seneca Valley, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Northwest took a serious blow against Seneca Valley when the teams last played back in January, falling 73-16. Can Northwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
