King is 0-4 against Bogan since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Jaguars will host the Bengals at 4:30 p.m. King will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
King is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against South Shore International by a score of 24-19 on Saturday. With that victory, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.
Sam Roma was a standout: he got on base in all six of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, five runs, and six RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Ryan Thompson was another key player, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI.
King always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Bogan's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Agricultural Science.
Elliot Patterson led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Immanuel Patterson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
King picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Bogan, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. King hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Bogan struggles in that department as they've averaged .425. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
King might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Bogan when the teams last played back in May of 2018. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
