Baseball Recap: Sheridan Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Sheridan got themselves on the board against Morgan on Wednesday, but Morgan never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Raiders. Considering the Generals have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brody White was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, James Solomon was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Camdyn Packer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Sheridan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan only posted a batting average of .071.

The win was the third in a row for Sheridan, bringing their record up to 11-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Morgan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sheridan is set to challenge their familiar foe Coshocton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Morgan will face off against rival West Muskingum at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
