Santa Rosa is 9-1 against Texico since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lions will face off against the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Santa Rosa will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak.
Santa Rosa gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 16-9 margin over Estancia. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 14 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Joshua Cordova, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted four hits, the most he's had since April 3rd. Another player making a difference was Landyn Zamora, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Santa Rosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .551. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Texico, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Loving on Tuesday, sneaking past 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Elyjuh Ricketson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Texico's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Bowman, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Santa Rosa's record now sits at 18-1. As for Texico, their record is now 8-10.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Santa Rosa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .449. However, it's not like Texico struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Santa Rosa was able to grind out a solid win over Texico in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
