Sayville is 10-0 against Amityville Memorial since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Sayville Golden Flashes will head out on the road to square off against the Amityville Memorial Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Sayville is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in New York (they are ranked 176th, while Amityville Memorial is ranked 503rd).
Sayville stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Miller Place with a sharp 53-27 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sayville.
Meanwhile, Amityville Memorial's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 30-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harborfields. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Amityville Memorial has scored all season.
Sayville pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Amityville Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Everything went Sayville's way against Amityville Memorial when the teams last played back in January as Sayville made off with a 69-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sayville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
