The Terrebonne Tigers lost against the Newman Greenies back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Terrebonne received a tough blow as they fell 68-53 to the Greenies. While losing is never fun, Terrebonne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Greenies are ranked ninth).
Newman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Todd Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Jones hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tayden Langdon, who scored 16 points.
Terrebonne has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-13 record this season. As for Newman, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Terrebonne will take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newman, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
