Basketball Recap: Douglas Extends Winning Streak to Two

If North Valleys wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Douglas, they should've done a better job of containing Trent Ipsen. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Panthers 68-39 with plenty of help from Ipsen, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points and four steals. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Jahreis, who posted 11 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Douglas and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for North Valleys, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Douglas and Casa Roble will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Valleys, they will square off against Debbie Smith CTE Academy at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
