Cyprus' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia Echternkamp, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Echternkamp is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamila Francis, who scored six points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Kearns lost, one person who can't be blamed is Adhau Chol. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with eight blocks and six rebounds. Chol hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kylee Glade, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Cyprus has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Kearns, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cyprus will square off against Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Granger has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14. As for Kearns, they will head out on the road to challenge Hunter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
