Baseball Recap: Fort Hill Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fort Hill's offense. They came up short against the Spring Mills Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Sentinels have suffered since March 25th.

Carson Bender put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Bender was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases.

Bender wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bobby Brauer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Brauer has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Fort Hill and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Spring Mills, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Fort Hill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-0 win against Berkeley Springs on the 25th. As for Spring Mills, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-11 defeat against Hedgesville on the 23rd.
