The Jo Byrns Red Devils will face off against the Westmoreland Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jo Byrns will be strutting in after a win while Westmoreland will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Jo Byrns turned things around against Todd County Central on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 8-1 victory.

Adam Riley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Jo Byrns is 2-1 when Riley allows two or fewer hits, but 0-7 otherwise. Riley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and three doubles.
In other pitching news, Jonathan Wix looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Wesley Frost was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Calen Dennis, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Jo Byrns was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Westmoreland fell victim to Macon County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Westmoreland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Fuller, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.
The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Westmoreland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Jo Byrns skirted past Westmoreland 9-8 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
