The Burroughs Burros entered their tilt with the Sultana Sultans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Burroughs strolled past Sultana with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 66-50. That's another feather in the cap for Burroughs, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sultana's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leland Price, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Price continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Kenyon Peters was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
Burroughs' victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Sultana, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burroughs will square off against Hesperia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hesperia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burroughs in California (Hesperia is ranked 172nd, while Burroughs is ranked 713th). As for Sultana, they will head out on the road to challenge Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
